i believe there is a 3.2L specific dipstick that's different from the universal one...

the dealer insisted that there is no dipstick other then this tool that would work. i wouldn't be surprised if there is. i got sick of arguing with them over it and just bought the tool.

Here is part # along with pictures of the dipstick. I have taken pictures of it on a tape measure so that anyone who wants to see if another dipstick works can judge it based on the measurements.

Every time I see terms like "good ole days" and "holler" in the instructions for an instrument intended to be used on a German car it scares me. Wait...that's a first.
