Power steering groaning noise 3.2
I have never encountered such a problem in my many years mechanic life.
Power steering pump sounds like a couple sperm whale battling off. The noise is at idle with and without the steering wheel turning. I noticed a slight leak on the ps pump at the inlet hose(bad old clamp). So I replaced the ps pump anyways to a used low low miles pump. Got new clamps , everything is sealed, no more leaks. Flushed with new chf 202 fluid. There are no aeration/bubbles in the fluid. Im totally baffled.
The noise is somewhat better since the repair, but it is still there. It overtakes the engine noise at idle.
Can any of you with the 3.2 confirm that this groaning whining noise is there or not on your current car? Maybe this is audi design to stop whale fishing?
