Q5 2012 or Q5 2013 dilemma? Help!
Hello there,
My query is the following.... is the Q5 2013 substancially different from the 2012?
I've read about the subtle differences (e.g. New grill, tail pipes, electromechanical steering, new mmi, xenons).... However, at present I am in this dilemma.
1) buy a new 2012 Q5 (to be delivered in 20 days with US$ 3,800 discount)
2) order a new Q5 2013 custom spec (wait 4-5 months to be deliver next march 2013)
Has someone experienced the q5 2012 and then the q5 2013?
Is it really worthwhile? Are there are just cosmetic changes... Facelift?
Many thanks in advance for your comments and advise.

The 2013 is not just a facelift. The MMI is 3G look up all the features on www.Audiusa.com. For example google earth is now on the Nav. You can use your car as a hotspot. Now you are able to stream bluetooth music from your phone or ipad to the vehicle. There are new colors interior and exterior. Fine grain ash wood is now available. The headlights and rear tail lights are new. The colors on the cluster, radio and heat controls are updated.
The engine, transmission, and differential are the same as before.
Personally why order one when the dealer can trade one with another dealer if they have exactly what you are looking for? The dealers have a search engine for this. I am in the same position you are get a 2012 or a 2013. I had the dealer trade with another to get exactly what I wanted. I chose the 2013

The nav is terrible in the 2012, the steering whines in the 2.0. The 2012 will depreciate more than they are discounting. I just traded a 2012 Q for a 2013 A6.

Thanks AMCBimmer for your comments. I am not based in the US and we only have one dealer in Lima - Peru. so there are not many options! Thanks for your comments !

Thanks Mr Panzer, I won't use the sat nav. You have a good point about the depreciation vs discount.

I purchased the nav to get the park assist and camara. Then I figured I have the nav why not use it! I used it several times and the maps are over three years old. The new system is great! I drove a13 Q and it drives the same as my 12, but no steering whine, heated seat issue,or outdated maps. I drove it over17 k miles in 10 months. No issues other than mentioned above. The heated seats were corrected and the glass roof replaced.
