In the US the Q5 is only available with panoramic, there's no option for just a traditional sunroof. I hope it works out for you.

In the states that is the only two configs I've seen. If you were up for a sunroof you should enjoy the pano. It makes the interior feel much more open and bright. I test drove one w/o and it was just too dark and felt a bit cramped.

What a nice looking Q5 - would have even bin that much nicer with the Pano Roof. Good luck and hold out for the Audi!

Latest news:

The deal is on only if we get our Q5 during 2010, the dealer is now searching suitable options.

If the deal is moved to 2011, firstly I want my $$$ down back, then without a compromise to purchase reorder to my specs.

I have to consider my options too:

Right Now In Stock, X5 35i ///M Sport wht/cin $5k off 0% financing 18 months. Pros: its hot. Cons: is $15k more than the Q5 :/

February new X3 to my specs. Pros: none, I don't like the X3 :/ Cons: I don't like the X3

April Q5 to my specs. Pros: It drives good! Cons: Anything could happen in 4 months :/

June new ML to my specs. Pros: Its the new thing! Cons: more expensive :/

I should sign, disgrunted and confused Q5 customer

If it's going to be a few months you may want to add the Range Rover Evoque to your list of considerations as well!

UPDATE- After a good couple of test drives of the X3, today we put our name on one coming in April. No $$$ money down yet as I want a confirmed date.

On the Q5, well, we have our name on one we ordered with S-line, "20's, Pano, Hitch prep, but so far no confirmed arrival

If the X3 arrives earlier I guess I have to start looking for a BMW forum to subscribe.

I know some will ask wich X3 we will get, it will a Drive28, reason is the 35 is simply too fast and also price. I'll post photos from the test drive soon.

I finally uploaded the X3 photos...

All in all both products are very good,

in overall design, ergonomics, interior space and materials the Q5 takes the cake,

nonetheless the obvious drivers choice would be the X3.

BMW engines are 3 notches above Audi, in 35 form is hella fast and in 28 form the inline 6 is a delight, Audi engines feel simply bland.

Drivetrain, the Xdrive is superior, you can feel it working underneath you on both road and offroad. The Audi feels again bland, uninspiring, uninvolving, against the BMW. The X3 has superior off road capabilities too.

Pre-sale service, unfortunatelly I have to say that Audi is like they are doing me a favor, since I put my order down I havent received a call, I bumped into the sales manager once and told me that my Q5 is well on order and on its way. BMW on the other hand has offered test drives of both models, sent an X5 loaded to our likings home with huge discount and tremendous financing in case we didn't want to wait for the X3, since we rejected the X5 they reschedule another set of X3 test drives to make sure the options we wanted and let us when could we get delivery, really good and unexpected work from BMW.

Its now a DEALER RACE whoever comes with the product first wins, I have my name on both vehicles, X3 28 and Q5 2.0T both loaded!

Sorry, just not my cup of tea. Never like the X3 and now the new improved one, still not changing that thought. Good luck on getting either car or both! Drive safe!
