The steering wheel in my A5 was fluid and easy to turn. I noticed instantly when i got into the Q that the steering wheel is much much harder to turn, particularly at low speeds. Is that normal?
It requires two hands to turn the wheel. I wonder how my wifey is gonna be able to handle that...

I am the original owner of my 2011 so it's not modded. It's not an S Line, and it has 19's not 20's and I have the same experiences with the hard steering when just turning a corner on a residential street so around 15mph.

My 09 also has pretty stiff steering, especially compared to an A4 loaner I once had. Didn't the steering mechanism change on the Q5 from 09 -> 10, 11 model years? Correct me if I am wrong, i believe servotronic is the name for that.

2009 Q5 did not have servetronic steering (and was much tighter) and the '10 and '11 models now have servetronic. That's why the steering on your '09 is so much tighter.

Still seems odd. I wish i had another 09 here to compare it with... I still may bring it to the dealer to see if they can have a look and suggest something. Anyone have a "preferred" service department in the NYC/LI area?
