Default Q5 and large dogs

Do you guys have large dogs 80+ lbs that you put in the back of the Q5. If so how do they fit?
Have a 2012 Q5, getting a doberman that is expected to be around 90 lbs when fully grown. Just wondering whether we should be looking for a different vehicle for that.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
A.

It's great for my 85lb. Chocolate Lab. I bought a rear protector from canvasback which works perfectly. He loves the big roof because it opens far enough for him to put his head out from the

Is that with the Lab in the Q5 with the back sits up or down?

Sorry part of my post was cut off. He's in the back with usually the seat behind the driver folded down and the seat behind the passenger left up as he likes to sit there. He gets in and out via the hatchback. I've got the kufatec module so I can open and close the hatch via the remote.

I have a 50 lb dog, and I just drop the seats and lay his bed in there. He has pleanty of room to get up & walk around, or to stretch out in his bed and sleep.

Not a problem for me at all.

My golden retriever weighs around 80 lbs. He rides very comfortably in a 36" soft sided crate that fits perfectly in the back of the Q5 if I slide the rear seats forward. That doesn't leave much rear leg room for anything more than a couple of children, though. If I want an adult passenger in the back, I'll split the seats and turn the crate lengthwise. The crate sits at a bit of a tilt this way because the seats don't fold totally flat, but the pup doesn't seem to mind.

I use the crate for fur containment. I also have a Canvasback to protect the carpet for when he rides out of the crate.

Oh, and if you don't need the dog to be riding in a crate, there's plenty of room for an 80 to 90 pounder to lounge in the back with the rear seats in their normal position. Raising all three rear headrests also makes for a nifty pet divider.

I have two Golden Retrievers weighing 75 and 80 lbs and hoping both will fit in the back area lying down. I wouldn't be using a crate. This is only when the family (2 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs) will be going out for a hike. Otherwise they ride in my car in the backseat with harness and seat-belt.

We have put a deposit down on a Q5 but haven't signed the paperwork.

I actually find the back to be on the small size. Prior to having this car I had a bullmastiff and he would have fit in here but there would not have been room for much else. Your doberman should fit if he is the only one back there.

Yep, this will be the only dog riding there. I mean with the rear seats up as I have 2 kids. I just ordered the canvasback liner to protect the cargo area.
Thanks for all your responses.
