Default Q5 liftgate opens on its own - anyone experience this?

Since getting my 2011 Q5 in October, I have on 4-5 separate occasions come outside to find my car sitting there with the liftgate fully open. In each case I know I had locked the car.

The first few times I assumed I had accidentally depressed the middle button on the key fob long enough while it was in my pocket to open the hatch, but now I am not so sure. Anyone else experience this?

I have noticed another thread on this subject in the past. May be worthwhile doing a search. If I remember correctly it had something to do with the 2nd key being in close proximity to the car somewhere in the house.

I'd suspect the sticking button in the gate - I belive I red something about it on a different forum.

Interesting - the 2nd key is indeed stored in close proximity - and this has never happened at work, etc. Maybe I will wrap it in copper foil...

I had the "sticky" button" replaced on my Q5 but it wasn't because the gate was opening when it shouldn't. Mine would fail to close when it should. Once I realized that the button was sticking I'd just tap the button and it would pop out and all would be fine as long as I pushed the button on the left side and not the right, IIRC. That got me by until Audi changed it out...no problem since.

I think there's a VAG-COM setting for this:
[64 - Absent-Mindedness]
[Coding - 00] -> [Long Coding Helper] -> Byte Me:
Bit 0 – Close tailgate after being left open accidently active (1 = active)
...but maybe this was only for the Q9
