Q5 a Mom car??????
I'm trying to decide between a Q5 and a S4. And I'm starting to realize the Q5 is a soccer mom car. Can people respond to this thread with either M or F. If the Male in your house drives the car obviously M and F if your wife drives it. thanks

When I got my Q5 back in 09' it was new and you obviously saw very few of them. The few I saw were driven mostly by men. When the 2.0 came out they became affordable and now you began to see them every where. Seems most that I see these days are in fact driven by women not unlike the Lexus.

I'm a male and the Q5 is my main car. The wife drives a Prius. I used to drive an A4. Needed the room for the dogs. I was close to buying the A4 allroad, but I didn't think the price: value was there.

*Q5 daily driver for me: (modded the holy hand grenades out of it tho to make it more aggressive.) I just can't have a daily driver that is a sedan/coupe. I will have an extra fun car one day soon tho. I think if the S4 Avant was here in the US in the 6MT, I'd have a hard time not going in that direction.
*Wife, WRX (Limited, Hatch, blacked out) Daily driver for her. She also likes the convience of a hatch for everyday use. That said, one day she told me she wants either a R8 Spyder in baby blue, a TTS Roadster in full on Red/Red, a 911 convertible in Red/Red, or a BMW M3 convertible in Blue.
We have 2 dogs, and "currently" no kids. A backseat and trunk are just not functional enough to me. Have to have the hatch on a daily driver. And if it helps you any I'm a Dentist, which judging from your screen name you might be too.

The Q5 is my vehicle and I am a female. Definitely not a "Soccer mom" though. My kids do gymnastics and I don't transport a bunch of their friends on a regular basis. I picked the Q5 because - although I'm a female - I enjoy driving sportier cars. If I didn't need the room for the kids, I would be driving a sedan.
I don't think the Q5 is a feminine car though. My favorite color combo is Daytona Grey with S line plus package, but I didn't get that, because I thought it was too masculine. So I went with Glacier White to soften it up, but still have all black interior .
I believe the Q5 is a good choice for those who want a sportier drive and sedan like handling, but still need some room for kids/dogs/whatever.

I just trade my 2012 for a soon to be manufactured 2013 A6. My wife and I shared the Q, we have 4 cars and only 2 drivers while my son is away at school. She liked it, I liked it. It is less of lady's car than a Junkxus RX. To be honest I think any "family" car could be seen as a lady's car. I am not being sexist! The Q5 is a great ride for males, females, and families. I could no longer stand the whining or the navigation system (out of date). Just choose a masculine color combo and upgrade to the 19 inch wheels and you will be good to go!
