My 2012 3.2 Q5 was giving me the wrong oil level reading and I didn't know. The level on the screen was 3/4 low. Added a quart and it didn't change. Added another quart and it changed to 3/4 full and now says "OK". Checked it a couple of days later and it said "Start engine to reset" or something like that and then said it had too much oil and I needed to drain some. Took it to the dealer to have that done and they said there is a sensor that tells the car the hood is shut and it resets all of that. Mine wasn't working right and it wasn't resetting. I guess you can't trust that screen 100%. So I purchased the dipstick and feel a lot better.

Exactly why I purchased a dip for my 2011 2.0T Premium+. The stick and the screen have always agreed 100% (about 10 times now) so I just use the screen and wait for the low oil warning. Every 2-2.5K miles for me, not too bad.

I clicked the links you all have posted, but they don’t work anymore. I have a 2017 A4 2.0T and the reading from the MMI is full, then a quarter way down, full again and then a quarter of the way down and has stayed there since. I’m not sure if the sensor is going out but I’d like to have a dipstick to be sure. Anyone have a new link?

You need a forum for the A4 B9. You can try with OEM service part number is VAG T40178 or this
