I was a little disappointed. Most other posters on this and other threads haven't been, which makes me wonder if I'm holding too high of expectations. I nearly slid into an intersection once, and caught a few instances of tire slip when climbing modest hills on snowy roads. I remember my A4, and it never lost traction ever. The Q5 did. I am wondering whether I should get snow tires for the winter. That was a hassle I didn't want to have to mess with, but I'm considering it.

I live in Chicago and drive to/from western Michigan. I have the Q5 with 19" OEM all-season tires.

I tried both Q5s with all wheels on the packed very slippery snow.
The snow tires did substantially better on the snow. I took off very aggressively on both SUVS.
The S-Line with winter tires just pulled away with hardly a sway of the body. The non-S-line on all-seasons did fish-tail and wiggle before it took off.
For what it's worth!
