Hello all,
I am looking to replace a BMW x3 that I have had just enough of its goofy personality. I have tried the search engine but it says it is broken.
A premium plus model shows 42,225.00 as MSRP.
I just had a dealer in the Washing DC area quote me above msrp 42,900 and actually state, "If this isn't agood deal I don't know what is".
Seriously, do you folks pay above msrp?
I have rarely paid $1k over invoice.
What is a reasonable expectation on pricing?

I know the Q5 is selling very good right now but I think you could do better than that- some areas due to availability are able to get more discounts than others. I would try Costco pricing if you are a member. Also, @ edmunds.com they have TMV (true market value) pricing that allows you to put in the make and model with the color and options and it will tell you what others in your area are paying.

Oh I know the pricing was a joke, but wanted to know if $1k above invoice (not msrp)was reasonable. I am thinking about $40k tops for a vehicle that is 42,225.

Wow,
Thanks for the true car link. It shows invoice is around $35k and $38K is reasonable. That seems much more in tune with what Edmunds was showing as well. Much appreciated.

In the Denver area the average price is $41,749. I talked my dealer down to $41,800 and he's throwing in the service package. Around here they're selling like hotcakes (what does that mean anyway?). My dealer has 7 coming in this month (mine being one of them) and they're all spoken for. He won't be gettting any more 2010's, only 2011's moving forward and he said it's likely to be late August/early September before they have any of them.
I'm glad I put down my deposit when I did.

You should be able to get that for $40000, a lot of owners in here have the Audi loyalty rebate which lowers the price by another $1000.

I paid about 500 over invoice so, no, you would not be getting a good deal. kindly tell your dealer to go get F@&%$^ and take your business elsehwhere. We are prectically in a depression for goodness sakes!

I pretty much did. I thanked him for the April Fool's joke and told him to let me know when he really wanted to deal. I am looking for an ibis white with cardamom interior and nothing more. He tried to validate his pricing by station it had a navigation system in it. Sorry, but I have yet to see a mfg navi that can compete with an entry level garmin or the like. So I certainly not spending $2k plus for something I don't want, nor is it good.
