Q5 tire rotation
Took my 2013 Q5 in for the 15K service and questioned why a tire rotation was not done. The service rep. told me that Audi does not recommend rotating tires. I can understand this on uni-directional tires. but not on the standard tires that came with the Q5. What say you?

Flora, I have seen this recommendation from other auto mfrs. Some claim it's the way to get max life from the tires. Not sure I could say it's been my experience with my cars.

They rotated my wheels when I asked for it at 15k service. Was surprised as I read that it is not inlcuded with the Audi care. So far I really cant complain about my dealer. Probably shouldn't just have said that

Last I checked, rotating tires meant getting them to turn in the opposite direction if they're not unidirectional. I always criss-cross mine. Moving them front to back on the same side doesn't accomplish this.

It's not about directional tires.
It's about radial tires and has been this way for decades.
It is even more important with water-channeling and other uni-directional tire designs.
I'm wondering just how old the cross-rotational guy is...these aren't bias-ply tires.
