Default Q5 Valentine 1 hardwire installation w/ pics

No new model forum in complete without a Valentine 1 radar/laser locator installation!

The battery power you'll need is available at the HomeLink. Open the sun glasses holder and remove the single T25 Torx screw and the whole overhead unit drops right out.

On the HomeLink, the black/white wire is the switched +12V power. The brown is ground.

Have fun! And don't leave home without your V1!

Just finished my V1 install. works like a charm. much easier than running a wire from the fuse box! thanks!

Did you guys have to use a fuse during this setup? Or did you just directly tap in without running the hot wire through a fuse?

If you are using the V1 hardware kit, it should come with a fuse already.

Got it. Thank you. Just jumping ahead of the game a little here. The radar is supposed to arrive tomorrow.
