Q5 vs Cayenne

I’ve had a 2014 Cayenne V6 and a 2012 Cayenne S, and also currently own a 2014 Q5 TDI. It’s a hard choice, because the Q5 and the Cayenne S are the two best cars I’ve ever owned. I had a Macan S loaner and looked into buying one after, it was the perfect blend about what I liked most about each car.

a couple of comments: I own a Q5 TDI and had a Q5 3.0T (same generation) service loaner once. The gas engine had noticeably better handling than the TDI due to the much lighter engine up front. I have never driven a Macan but recently when I was tire shopping I came across very aggressive summer tires as standard factory fitment to Macans. It made me curious as to what a Q5 would feel like if fitted with the same aggressive summer tires as a Macan. Anybody here tried it? Lastly, the Macan is still based on the Q5 first generation platform. I have driven both Q5v2 and SQ5v2... They are noticeably lighter, though at the same time I perceive slightly less structurally strong.

MACAN seems longer than Q5, boot side, but boot and front slopes/tilts/angles more agressively. Macan seems more of a sports car externally and better looking when viewed at an angle 2nd and 3rd photo.

Thanks guys. Lots of good input. I expect that I might have to hold off on the Porsche option for a while at this point. The car would be my wife's GG and Errand-mobile, though we would also use it for long weekend getaway's. She doesn't care one iota about handling, and is extremely interested in fuel economy. I expect that I'll probably chase down a '15 Q5 TDI to replace her current Lexus RX450h when the time comes (perhaps this fall or this coming spring). I think I'll reserve the Porsche option as my DD when I retire my truck to the hauling/towing spot with weekly drives to keep it in shape. I've always loved the Cayenne, but you guys have me rethinking that and considering the Macan instead.
Thanks again for all the input and experiences.
