Default Q5 w/Falken All Terrain Tires

Just picked up my Audi Q5 a couple weeks ago and wanted to put a beefier All Terrain tire on it.
So I decided to go with the new Falken WildPeak A/T Trails. Just got them put on my ‘16 Audi Q5. They are 7 pounds lighter than the KO2’s. Went down from stock ‘19 wheels to a set of ‘18 Montegi Racing MR118’s. Almost identical statistically to stock ‘19’s.
Definitely a little more road noise on the ride home but can’t tell any difference so far with ride quality or handling.
Will update as I put more miles on them!!

Very cool with the right wheels. Yours are appropriate. If I did, I would look for this style wheel in 18":

Found this thread searching for all-terrain's on Q5's. They are few and far between!

Anyone running 255/55r19's on the factory 8Jx19 ET39's? I think they're too tall, without something like 15mm or 20mm spacers.

255/55r19 will probably rub.

I have 255/50r19 Michelin Defender LTX tires on my stock 19 in wheels without any spacers. Clearance is pretty tight due to the extra width, but doesn't actually rub anywhere. If you went any taller the tire would probably not clear the "knuckle" that arches over the top of the front wheels.

I just installed new takeoff wheels and tires from a 2019 q7 on my 2011 q5. 255 55r19. Had to grind an 1/8” of the steering knuckle for clearance. Spacers would have pushed the wheels too far out in my opinion.

I’m happy with the result.

Those look great! What's the offset of those wheels?

Thanks. Any chance you could take a picture or two of the grinding you did? I'm curious about where exactly the interference was.
