thanks TD!
mangoango; I'm running 245/50/20, which visually speaking is slightly bigger than what I'd like (would prefer 45-series on 20's), but of course studs in 20" are limited in terms of sizes and these are the best tires for our nordic conditions.
no rubbing though, plenty of space in the arches. The front tires come close to the upper control arm / joint, but since they are ET29 (9x20") they just clear it.
I'm running 10mm spacers in the rear, will probably put them in the front and 15mm in the back instead.

3M vinyl for the trims and roof tracks, the grille was sprayed in black, just a regular 2 component car paint and a matte clear coat
haha, you're the second one to say that. the pictures don't really show the true size of the car, so I can definitely see how it would look like a smaller car.

I can't speak for arcS, but the extra headroom played a role in choosing a Q5 over an A4 Avant or A4 allroad for me. I have my Q5 lowered too, but not anywhere near as much as arcS's.

its still an entirely different car, not only in terms of look, but function wise as well. Even with the heavy drop I have way more ground clearance than I would with a lowered A5, there is more headroom and thus easier to put my daughter in the backseat, more room in the trunk...

Sitting in A4, and the A4 based allroad, there is no comparison to the headroom the Q5 has.
Plus you can lower the Q, still have ground clearance, and go from climbing down a bit when getting out, to being relatively even.
In the A4 and the allroad you have to crawl down to get in them for sure!
That said, once I'm in an A4, and I drop the seat as far down as it will go, I'm comfortable. But the space for everyday items and family isn't there.
