I agree, but this is exactly my point. The OP lives near this guy and yet did not buy from him. This is the NYC metro area (where I live) - I know 90% of the population is out there trying to get something from someone or get something over on someone. Maybe the approach to Classic was not "can you help" - but "you gotta do it.." (again, NYC finesse). I know Classic has done repair work for people who bought their cars outside the area - my neighbor works for Classic and tells me the number of times they do such things. Classic even did my NYS inspection before I had an Audi - they did this on my 2002 Altima and even washed the car as a courtesy. That is one of the reasons I went with them. Anyway, I do not mean to demean the OP or anyone, but I get tired of lots of one-sided sories on this board and the seeming desire to trash dealers for not jumping through hoops.

I believe this was an early production problem that has been remedied for 2010 units. To answer your question, Yes the water pump is replaced upon repair with an updated and improved pump.

Out of curiosity, what do you consider to be early production? My 2010 Q5 has a build date of July 2009, I picked it up in August. I didn't see the model year of the OP's Q5, just that it was built in June '09.

I agree 100%; or what if you are traveling out of state?
I could be totally wrong here, but I thought that a loaner is part of what you get when you are leasing/buying an Audi (or most any new car)?

Not all new cars or car dealers offer loaners, in fact, most non-luxury brands do not. I search the Audi USA site and it doesn’t state that a loaner id guarantee. Last minute loaners are pot luck at best with any dealer regardless of brand.

The MY 10s only started to arrive in July of 09. perhaps there is confusion between production and arrival.

I believe the production date is when the car is finished from the factory, it still takes Audi a few weeks to ship it over here to the USA, less time to Ireland
Anybody know what the cut off production date is for new water pump?
