Default Rear windshield sprayer question

Does your rear windshield sprayer direct the cleaning solution to the rear window glass (like the front windshield) or does it direct the cleaning solution to the rear wiper blade?

The Q5 we trade this summer projected the washer fluid very close to the pivot point of the rear wiper arm. We always thought it should have sprayed closer to where the middle of the wiper blade was, but the service department said it was aimed correctly. If you don't like the aim, have you tried using a needle inserted into the spray hole to adjust the aim? We did that for the front window, and it helped correct the passenger side not getting cleaned on the outer 1/4 of the wiper sweep.

Yeah, I've definitely thought about using a small needle to re-direct the spray. But if the spec is for the fluid to spray near the pivot point on the rear wiper (as opposed to the rear windshield), perhaps someone knows the rationale for this. It's not clear to me.

I didn't mean to imply it didn't hit the window, it did, just not very far up onto the window. I always felt it took an absurd amount of fluid being released before the liquid would work its way to the outer reaches of the wiper blade.

I believe there are 2 nozzles in the sprayer, so in theory should distribute liquid relatively evenly along the wiper blade (~1/3 and ~2/3 of its length). As liquid stream is almost parallel to the glass each stream should spray substantial amount of glass. If it not working for you, then you should adjust nozzles using needle, but be carefull - it is not easy as even the smallest change in its position makes huge difference to where the liquid stream hits the glass.
