Default Red Brake Caliper Option 2016

I'm still waiting for pricing to be announced on the 2016 SQ5 but I noticed an option in the order guide for red brake calipers. Does anyone know what Audi might charge for this option? Can anyone venture a guess or tell me what that option cost on other models?

Based on last year's order guides, the only cars with a stand-alone red caliper option (not part of a bigger package) were the R8s and it cost $700. I'd expect it to be about the same.

Hmm, for that money a splash of red hammerite paint should do the trick!

In the UK this was an option for my SQ5 built late 2014 @ £430GBP which converts to around $645USD.

I was told it is only the front callipers that are red too, not all round!

I originally selected it but when the wife found out I was going to spend that on having them painted red she flipped and I went for heated seats instead.

Personnaly, I prefer the black ones. If they were nice multi-pots aluminum calipers, then yes.

It's a $500 option on the 2015 RS5. The RS5 has the same brakes as the R8, so at $700 somebody is getting ripped off. My guess is about $400 for the SQ5.

I saw the red calipers when I was in Germany back in March (in Ingolstadt actually), and I didn't really like the way the "SQ5" lettering was still surrounded in black.
Looked like a 1/2 job IMO.

Personally I like the brembo's better, than the Sq5 logo. I picked up a pair for the front of mine and they look great!

I have them on my car, and I kinda like them: https://i.imgur.com/CwpyTci.jpg (sorry about quality, shot with my cell phone).
