Default Remote Key Seat Memory Not working

OK, maybe I can't follow directions, but I cannot get my remote key seat memory to work. I have:

Can someone confirm this feature works? If so, am I doing something wrong, and do the seats return to the key memory settings just by unlocking, or must the key be in the ignition?

                Thanks

after adjusting the seat while having the main key on you, did you store the settings using the buttons on the driver door?

I just got my Q5 and was playing with the memory seat as well. From what I understand, the seats don't move on their own after unlocking. You still have to push the memory button, it just remembers the settings from key 1 and key 2 so that each key can have its own two memory settings.
                Am I wrong?

Make sure the "OFF" button isn't on.

I don't understand. The buttons recall the setting just fine, but it was my interpretation that those settings were also stored in the appropriate key so pressing the buttons wwas not necessary

Memory works fine on my Q5. One key is set to setting 1, the other to setting 2. Pretty sure I just did the same steps in your OP, buy I may have had the ignition turned on to make the assignment.

I have never seen any seat movement on its own after unlocking.

I have set the seat position.
                Set the memory button.
                Off button is NOT off.
Readjusted seat, pushed memory button to confirm that at least that worked. It did move the seat to my stored position.
Readjusted seat again to an abnormal position.
                Locked car with keyfob.
Unlocked car with same keyfob. Seat does NOT move on its own.

I have not spent a lot of time with this yet, but I must be doing something wrong.

I don't believe it moves with the key fob. Sorry.
