Well let's deduce this.

a) either it's a malfunction and he needs to go to the dealer.

b) the storing setting is not correct.

Would that make more sense? If it's not B then most likely it's A.

My deduction:

a) My Q5 is better than yours

b) I'm more competent than you

Either of which I'm fine with.

Both options remain to be seen.

I just tested AudiCo's method and it worked fine, with no advanced key option. I didn't pose the initial question, but this thread helped me. Never had an issue with seat storing, just auto seat movment upon unlocking. I did have the MMI set properly, so for the life of me, I don't know what was going on.
-Thanks.

That's good, sounds like it wasn't an issue.

Silly me, I thought the MMI setting was for both keys. I didn't realize that the wife's key had to be activated separately in it's menu. After activating hers, both keys retain seat and mirror memory. THANKS!

If wife takes her key"B" and drives the car(and adjusts seat to her specs), it will return to my specs as soon as I unlock the car with key"A". The presets in the car have nothing to do with the seat position remembered by the keys. Not sure if Audi mimics this or not.
Yes, The Audi works this way as well.
