Couldn't help but notice your Valentine One. On my last car, I had to remove some trim pieces to run a power cable from the Valentine One to the fuse box below the dash. Is this what you have done? Why can't these car guys include an accessory port near the rear view mirror.

Although I have no specific information on our Q5's, the last time I tried it on a BMW I ended up having to buy a new sunshade for something like $250. Those warnings aren't just stickers anymore like they used to be decades ago.
The problem was simple chemistry; "like dissolves like" ( I'm a chemist BTW). Once I found a solvent that would dissolve the signage, the visor goes with it. I had it all taped off nicely and got the sign removed, but the texture of the sunshade changed. Bad idea![Frown](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)

I wire our cars exactly as Elevens has done. Very simple, just about any one should be able to do it.

You can access both ground and switched 12v power at the homelink:

When I get a chance I'll do a write up and include some pictures.
I passed the info to another member here and he was able to do his 2013 Q5 as well. Works for both Escort and Valentine
