For sure. Audi will not get his biturbo v6 approved soon in NA. Diesel is becoming more mainstream here since Europe legislation is getting thougher on Diesel in the future over there. German automakers wants to continue to sell their technology in the future.

Some estimated residuals I remember seeing for the TDI, SQ5, and 3.0 gas, 63%, 58%, and 53 %
respectively......
This for 36 months. Does not mean they will be that low, really do not think so.
But it implies a better % residual value for the TDI. I think reality will be pretty close for
SQ5 and TDI, 3.0 gas last. But in the end I think the TDI will edge out the SQ5 in % of
resale value.
As others have said, not a big deciding factor for me, between a SQ5/TDI, but a additional
parameter in cost of ownership. How much value you place on that, up to each individual.
I went with a TDI mainly because the price delta was pretty big between the SQ5 and TDI,
and in real world DD traffic conditions I actually preferred the torque on the TDI.
No doubt the SQ5 is "faster" and has noticeable better brakes, that I do not use in daily driver situations.....
If the SQ5 is going to be the performance car, grocery getter and kid hauler, no question-go SQ.
don't worry about resale or gas mileage.
If you you have other go fast toys, go with a TDI.
In the end buy what makes you happiest, and enjoy it.

Thank for your input man.
Really appreciate your comment.
This will be indeed the only vehicule for the household. Wife will use it daily for work, family car for kids, but I was going S because I'm coming from a GTI, and still excitement sometimes...
