Well I got the mirror to "look down great", but only if I'm in reverse and then I turn the **** to the right, all in one step. I then have to re-center the **** after backing up so I don't see the fun. Perhaps that's the design. Whooopeee

Agree Otto, some may find it beneficial when parking next to a curb, but it actually bothers me when it does that since my DD doesn't do that

That is another one of those to each his own preferences though !

100% here - I, daily at work, park on an end spot (on purpose) and I hug that curb!!! So I find the downward mirror invaluable to have the increased visibility to not hit the curb and damage my rim/wheel esp as it is only on that one side that I need this extra viewing.

Although with that said I do find it a perpetual mind-slip in the winter months to remember to turn the **** back to center to utilize the heater function... I would find it more convenient if the heated mirrors were wired in to work with the rear window defroster switch.

It's odd that that Audi doesn't allow both features to work at the same time. Sounds like something that can be improved on. If that is how it works, I agree that the mirror heaters should have another switch (or piggyback on rear defrost)to operate.

I believe the defrost has to be on as well in order for the heated mirrors to work.

Not on mine. The heated mirrors work without the rear defog on.

I thought I would resurrect this post briefly if some people still were not happy.
The other day I noticed that if we just leave the mirror adj. **** in the "right" hand mirror position all of the time, when you put the vehicle in reverse the "right" side mirror rotates to look down. Provided you have followed the adjustment procedures.
Perhaps this was explained but I missed it.
