Semi new SQ5

I had a very nice Q5 2.0 and the wife has a nice 3.0. However, I just needed more power. My local dealer was able to locate a Monsoon grey 3.0 with sport seat (only requirement) except the dealer swap fell through on that car. My local dealer had a very nice 2015 SQ5 with way more options than I needed the main one being some exclusive interior package which is completely unnecessary. Since I went through so much hassle with the failed dealer swap I got what I would consider a fair price for the new 2015 SQ5. Aside from the overkill leather option I love the car, it even came with the underseat bins!
Having driven this for a week I can say the even though the 2.0 was resonable powerful, it was just not enough for a heavy car. The standard "3.0T" would be just fine except they seem hard to get right now with specific options unless you order it.

Nice SQ5! I agree wit your assessment of the 2.0L Q5. I own a VW MK6 GTI with the same engine and I cannot imagine it being as powerful and lively in a larger and much heavier vehicle. It will b adequate for a lot of folks but not for me.

2.0 is fine for both around town and highway. it does have less power and torque, but enough for highway passing and cruising.
2.0 is much more cost effective choice:
1, ~$3300 less MSRP
2. ~250 lbs. less weight (Less front heavy and body roll and better gas mileage)
3. Less Taxes
4. Less maintenance cost (Oil capacity, tire, brake, suspension wear)
If you want more power and torque, 3.0 or SQ is the way to go, BUT it doesn't mean that buying a 2.0 is not a good idea
