Default side mirrors

it seems like my side-assist mirrors are bigger than cars with non-side-assist mirrors

Am I right?

I been driving for a little over 10 years. I know that might not be a lot of years compared to some of you guys, but I do feel that the mirrors are too big that it actually is a safety concern when it comes to driving during the night time...

Big mirrors restrict your view, especially during turns.

I fail to see how BIG mirrors could ever be more bad than good. I've been driving cars, P/U trucks, large deliviery trucks and construction machinery for over 30 years and large mirrors are always MORE safe than NOT. Any SUV with large blind spots NEEDS large mirrors. I'm also happy to report that I've never had an accident whilst changing lanes or backing up. Large mirrors are a huge help when backing and lane changing. Ask any trucker worth his salt how important mirrors are and he'll tell ya... "the larger the better." Mirror orientation is also extremely important...most drivers have NO IDEA how to orient mirrors for best view.

depending on how high you set yours seats, big mirrors CAN become a blind spot... as big as a fellow on is bicycle
I experienced this twice in the beginning
I'm now aware of this and always doublecheck when crossing a road

i sit as low as i can and in a way that makes mirrors terrible for turning. i live in NYC and have tinted front windows. I often drive in manhattan at night and never have had a problem with a pedstrian.
