Just got my new iPhone 4S and took Siri for a spin in the Q5. To use it, you activate Siri by putting the phone to your ear (bad choice where using handheld devices is illegal) or you can hold the home button for a second or two. The MMI will show you connected to your own number, and a timer just as if you were on a phone call. It understands what you are saying perfectly and plays it back through the car speakers. You do, however, need to have the phone in your hand to initiate speech with Siri, but you can end it with the 'End Call' button.

Sorry about my ignorance. The last thing I owned that was made by Apple was a Performer computer running system 7 back in 1993. I don't have an Iphone (or droid for that matter) or an Ipod (or any MP3 player... I think the compression makes music sound like crap).
