Default Sirius Traffic Question

I checked through a bunch of old threads and couldn't find a definitive answer to this question: once the free trial of Sirius runs out (including traffic), is it possible to only reactivate the traffic portion?

Their website indicates that you can (http://www.siriusxm.com/siriustraffic), but that you have to pay for at least 1 year at a time if ordered without a radio subscription.

Has anyone done this? Before I call them I'd like to see if anyone had any issues, or had any luck getting a discount.

Thanks!

I renewed the traffic only a few weeks ago. Its fairly simple and can be done online in about 10 minutes. I didn't bother calling them and asking for discounts though.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't able to do it online. It wouldn't recognize my VIN, ESN, etc... I'll double-check that I wrote the EIN down correctly, otherwise will call them.

Thanks again.

I didn't notice your signature. I have read on these forums that people with the 2010 and 2009 Qs had problems renewing. Something about having the same ESN for Data and Radio.

I didn't have a problem with my 2011 so I figured Audi and Sirius got their act together and fixed the issue for 2011.

Thanks again for the update. I think I have separate IDs for radio and data (at least that's what my notes indicate, I'm going to have to go down to my car and double-check). I am able to enter my radio ID online, but only have radio subscription options. When I enter what I think is my data ID it says it can't be activated online.

I'll call from my car later and see what they tell me.

Thanks again.

You can renew just the traffic, if its your first renewal you will have to call them. After that it can be done online, at least thats what it took for my 2010 Q5.

I just renewed my Sirius radio subscription and was told that the traffic portion will be included and will automatically become available in 3 months time, from then on. Currently it is a separate provider and separate activation. (I'm in Canada)

Are you guys doing monthly billing, annual, or longer? I'm a month or so from my trial ending, and I'm curious what others are doing. Thanks.
