So, what are you paying for your Q5?

I noticed while at a dealership today that they had a lot (at least 10) Q5s available. In the past I've never seen that many sitting at a dealer. In September 2009 when I got mine they only had a couple on hand.
So maybe production is catching up with sales and they are willing to make better deals?
Just a thought...

Not as good a negotiator as most of the guys here. For a Premium Plus Q5 I paid about $800 USD over invoice --- not sure if there are incentives so I made have paid more even. The business manager said I got a good deal and I stared back at him and he said You did. You did. We sell these for a lot more. I said well 2011s are coming out in a few months so. He said Well I see the deals everyday and this is a good deal. A real good deal.
Whatever.
Whether I lost $1,000 or $2,000 I think back to The Millionaire Next Door book where the guy laughs when folks like me buy new cars and celebrate saving $2-3,000 on the deal and as we drive off the lot the car depreciates by $4-5,000. I really wanted to buy used (like the book recommends) but could not find a car in the $30-$38K range I liked as much as the Q5.
Tried a used BMW 5 series since I had a BMW 3 series: it was nice but did not have the utility and features of the Q5. I did not like used A6s -- just too old of a look; I do not like the interiors of older Infiniti Ms and Lexus do not seem fun to drive... so I got the Q5.

Just picked ours up last week and love the car. Got a silver Q5 with Premium, nav, and s-line package. dealer gave us $1,700 discount plus $500 loyalty discount (weird since it was for trading in our 2008 ML350, which felt like junk). I think that still came out to about $1,200 over invoice but was happy with the deal and whole experience of it all.
If you're wondering about the trade in, we bought the ML350 used in December 2008 for $36K and got $30K for the trade in. I thought that was really good deal ($6K for using an ML350 for a 1 1/2 years, better than a lease with no down payment!).
