As the rainy season starts in the Pacific Northwest, I am looking for splash guards for my Q5. Audi USA's parts store (http://parts.audiusa.com/) shows different part numbers for Q5s before and after the face lift:
- 2012 F/R: 8R0075111A/8R0075101A
- 2013 F/R: 8R0075111B/8R0075101B
In particular, the front guards are much smaller for the 2013 than those for the 2012. So small that I doubt their usefulness.
Frankly, I think that for $230 per set of 4, they are way over priced. It appears that there is a multitude of third party "clones" for MY 2009-2012, but nothing specifically for MY 2013-2014. For example:
- http://www.ebay.com/itm/Free-shiping-Mudguards-Mud-Flaps-Splash-Guard-For-Audi-Q5-/200912881480?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ec7574748&vxp=mtr- - YBM
So my questions are:
1. Are the OEM 2012 and 2013 guards interchangeable (screws in the same place, etc.)?
2. Anybody put 2012 splash guards on a 2013?
3. Anybody has the stubby MY 2013 front guard (8R0075111B)? Is it functional at all?
4. Any good/bad experiences with third party guards?
I have seen quite some discussions about splash guards for the S-Line. Please note that mine is just a regular 2.0T P+, not a S-Line.
Any help will be appreciated!

I love the look and function of my Audi
Splash guards. I don't have the s either.
Talk to your salesman who sold you the car.
I'm sure he will help get a deal for you.
My salesman was Great.
Anyway love the look on my 14 Q5. 2.0.

Thanks for your reply.
I take it you got the newer version? Is the front flap short? Is it sufficient to do the task?
Thanks!

I do. The new version works for me, but obviously will not work as well as the previous version given the size difference. I find the look of the bigger version to be ungainly, so I'm OK with how the new ones perform.

Not sure if the '12 parts are compatible with '13~'14. I have a 2012 I got the parts from Bernardi (http://audi.bernardiparts.com/Depart...s/Audi-Q5.aspx) They provided instructions even before placing an order, are original Audi parts and were about $30/set less than the dealer. They were pretty easy to install and as a bonus, used the opportunity to clean and wax the wheels as well since you will have to remove each one. There are a few holes to drill but they are into plastic sections so no rust worries.

I have pretty much decided not to go with Audi OEM. But if I get third party, they all come with front and back as a set. Yours is a great price, sorry I can't take advantage of it.
