EPIC THREAD RESSURECTION!!!
Hey all-
2014 SQ5 here.
Tire Rack no longer lists any 18" that will fit our car (per post #23, they used to). A wrecking yard nearby is selling some OEM Q5 18" (8R0601025AD) that they say have been on a 2016 SQ5 there at the yard.
Ive been through this thread and this thread over and over, trying to piece together the info I can, But it seems to me like 18s will clear our brakes. Maybe some 18s will need spacers but in general people have had good luck. I'm in the Tahoe area, so I could buy a set of 18s from TireRack and drive to the Sparks Distribution Center to test fit them (myself in the parking lot), but that would require lying to Tire Rack about what car I have (ie. "I have a 2015 Q5 3.0T Premium Plus", when in fact I have an 2014 SQ5 Premium Plus). Problem with that is: sure, it's frustrating that TireRack stopped certifying 18" wheels for our cars and isn't transparent about why, but it's just shady to make a purchase under false pretenses.
Sure would like a set of 18s, but just stuck for ideas. Anyone recently (ie in the past five or six years) figured out how to get 18s on an SQ5?

Carbus see my post here on 18's...no spacer needed, some room for caliper clearance and we are just waiting to throw them on once the weather sits below 0 degrees steady.

We are using the Kaltire M-Klasse 18x8 with +35mm offset 5 spoke rim with 255/55/18 Nokian 10 Hak studded tires...gonna crush winter with this setup! Weight per wheel fully inflated was 62.2lbs.

Hello, new forum member here. My SO has purchased a SQ5. Expecting delivery within a week or so.
Our model is coming with the 21" Optional tires in which we never really had a choice. The roads where I live in Northern Alberta are far too crappy for that low of an aspect ratio for her tastes. I drive an Evo X with a 265/35 so I know what she means.
Anyhow to the point: I am looking to see if the stock wheel size from the regular Q5 will fit and clear the calipers etc.
I am looking for hopefully 18's in a narrow wheel for winter. Anyone have any ideas? I will be buying an aftermarket winter wheel/tire combo.
We will be replacing the 21"s for summer as well but that can wait until spring. (Probably with 19s or 20s.

The Continental Viking Contact 7s are getting some excellent reviews.
You can also try PMC Tires in Canada if you can determine correct wheel size and offset. They will ship tires mounted on rims balanced. My son bought the Vikings for his Eclass Benz from PMC and is happy with them.. I have 18 " Bridgestone on my 2015 TDI.
