And fogs must be off.

No issues with adaptive headlights however.

Next stop is the dealer, but I'd like to make sure it's not something as simple as a VCDS toggle before I go there.
Well, so they were working and then they stopped. That implies they are are both malfunctioning or have been disabled. Have you made any VCDS changes to the Q lately?

+1 on idea here. Some seemingly innocent coding stuff or playing with non-U.S. options in the lighting arena can blow these up. If you can't see/find the relevant module, it's toast.

Meantime, if car also has adaptive lighting, see if that is working--as in drive car on a quiet and safe dark road, cut wheel slowly left then right then left kind of stuff and see if lights swing back and forth more quickly than car is turning to compensate and get repointed in new turning direction. I know the systems are separate as far as which bulbs are involved (main HID vs. dedicated corner lamp), but I think the underlying control electronics overlap.

Just an addition to this as well. Even on the SQ5, they only came on the Prestige model. Is yours a P+ line or Prestige line?

I found the issue.
Scanning the module brings up the following error code:

02235 - Stationary Cornering Lamp (Left) (M51)
011 - Open Circuit - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00101011
Fault Priority: 3
Fault Frequency: 30
Reset counter: 87
Mileage: 48404 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2015.11.23
Time: 18:11:53

Clearing the code gets the static cornering light working when I turn the wheel to the right, when I turn the wheel to the left, the same error code gets thrown and the right cornering light gets disabled. (The left cornering light NEVER works)
Process gets repeated each time I reset the error code.

Now I just have to find some time in the daylight to peek under the hood.

Take it to dealer if you have a code like this. Something is broken. Control, wiring, bulb connection, angle sensor (though code doesn't really sound like that), etc.

Interesting side note about my adaptive lights. Watched my wife start up the car in the garage. The HIDs come on and move up and down to re-level every time the car starts.

That's a feature of HID's, not adaptive. My 2000 A6 with HID's--way pre-adaptive--did the same. Std. Audi and basically Euro; there are HID's without it, but regulatory compliance is less clear.

Took it to the dealer.
Service report says they replaced the left bulb... All is good now.

Was there an error light in the instrument cluster indicating the error or only on the VCSD? I just started experiencing the same issue today with my 2014 SQ5 where the static cornering lights stopped working. I checked the fuses and they appear to still be good and there are no warning lights on the instrument cluster indicating an error. It sounds like a single bulb out failure could cause this from your post above, but any other help would be appreciated before I bring it to the dealer.
