Well, for 2012 model year the push button start will be standard on Prestige and optional on the Premium Plus.

Concerning the power steering column, I do think it is just a nice extra. Since our Q7 is used by multiple people, it is a nice feature. Also, it is kind of frustrating that this feature is standard on many lower cost vehicles such as the Lexus IS and the Infiniti G series.

One more thing to break and have to make a trip to the dealer.

This will be my first suv and honestly dont remember that part of my test drive. I just ordered the car 2 wks ago so along with what had been said, many positives outweighed a couple of negs.

Taking delivery in 3 months on a 2011 Q5 3.2 deep sea blue, S line interior package (w/ dubs).
If you're going to wait 3 months to get a 2011 why not factory order a 2012 and get it in almost the same time frame? Also, the push button start along with the smart key is now a stand alone option for 2012. You don't need to go Prestige now to get it.

I have a 2012 on order and am told I should get it sometime before September, you may want to consider a factory order. A 2011 will be a year old by the time you get it. Just sayin'.

I was torn about that very issue but I needed to get a 4 door in time for the baby due next month as our old 2 door coupe just wouldn't cut it. Also, a good excuse to shop for a new toy! The only problem (read: complaining wife) was that 99% of my research time spent on the car and the remainder 1% for the baby. Reading about $800 strollers and their suspension was fun for about 2 mins.

forgot to mention.. my baby arrived 2 weeks early.. the Q5! ordered 3/19, arrived at dealer 5/12, picked up 5/14. its been raining here in NYC all weekend and maybe until saturday according to the forecast so the car didn't get much camera time but here are a couple.. really doesn't do it justice as it deserves a full spread bumper to bumper.

Bumbleride Indie. We're in Hoboken and I work in the Financial District, so we needed a good stroller as well. We looked at the $800+ strollers including the Uppababy Vista (second choice), Orbit, Stokke, Bugaboo, etc. We found the $400 Bumbleride to be excellent, and a little different from all the Britax and Baby Joggers you see everywhere (well, in New York, you see everything I wrote above all over the city). We also got a Bob Ironman for a dedicated jogging stoller (the Indie can be used as a jogger in a pinch, but the Bob is way nicer). And a snap-and-go. And an umbrella stroller. Come to think of it, if it were up to me, we wouldn't have bought 4 strollers, but then again, the wife makes the calls in our family :-). Heck, if it were up to me, we'd probably be taking delivery of an S4 instead of a Q5 this week!

Also, while I know you already picked up the Q, depending on the model, a coupe can be do-able with a young baby. We went an entire year with a 2-door E46 BMW, and while not great, it worked. We were able to fit the stroller, golf clubs, and bags in the trunk for weekend trips and trips to the airport. No question the Q will be way better in that regard, though.
