Small ice scraper.

Unless you are 6+ feet tall, a small ice scraper may not be very practical for the Q5, it would be tough to clear the windscreen. Or you can wait for the defroster to do it.

Everybody's always on here saying the Q5 is a ladies car, so maybe it's for them to keep something for them in there.

It'd have to be a small one tho still... lol

Valid point but what can on put on that tiny hanger?

Wow, thanks for all the responses! Isn't trying to get into German engineers' heads fun!?

Hmmm, I concede that it is not impossible to put an umbrella there. Yet, I still doubt whether that is the intended use, since the umbrella "solution" Audi "officially" offers uses the multi-use attachment instead:

There are also door pockets. But to me, the strongest argument against the "map hypothesis" is that the driver simply can't safely reach it unless the car is stopped. It seems intended for the passenger's use.

AAA Triptiks? Talk about walking down Memory Lane. I use to swear by them. Do they still make those?

Small ice scraper.

This seems as good a guess as any. Yet I am still doubtful. For one thing, it is too deep. Then, as others have mentioned, you'll need a longer handled one. But my main objection is that nets don't really go well with scrapers. Sooner or later someone will put it in wrong, then the scraper will get stuck in it.

There should be a more elegant solution...but what?

Audi provides at least two accessories for it. See:

I keep a small mag flashlight down there just in case something gets lost under or between the seats. Really small space for storage, kind of strange.
