mp66226 take it to the dealer and have them start the process of fixing. I have a 13 Q5 3.0 S-Line and had it at the dealer four times before they finally nailed the fix. There are two service bulletins they tried, both involved lubing the track, cleaning etc. The third time they "aligned" the roof and pit in place antisqueek gasket tape, the fourth time that had to pull the whole roof out, adjust the tracks, re torque, align glass and presto the roof is fixed. No more creeks, rattles and that pesky accessional rattle above the passenger seat is gone. Took a while but worth it. Be persistent.

Did this help in the long run? I see you sent a PM to AF1, didn't know if there was anything/details about the process in the PM that you could share with me as well. 2012 Q5, a couple of days after buying it, I noticed this popping as well. Early on, if I opened and closed the roof, it seemed to stop for awhile. Doesn't seem to be helping now.
I had exactly the same problem. Dealer replaced the sunroof frame and the problem went away.
