Thanks for the VAGCom / VCDS assistance - gauge sweep and D1-D8 now on !
The wife loves the gauge sweep although it does nothing 
and I love the gear display in auto !!!
A question though....
many times the explanation of the coding changes refer to check boxes - I had never seen them before today and think I know why...
most may know, but I had to highlight each BIT for the 'english-like' check boxes to appear.
Makes it MUCH easier than counting from left to right starting at zero on one line and right to left starting at zero on the next and hoping you change the correct 0 to 1
As always I did do full scan and screen shots before changes - just in case!
