Default Thinking about buying a Q5

I'm thinking about buying a Q5 (maybe used) and am wondering if there is anything specific I should look at before I purchase? Any span of years that Audi had a problem with these cars? Or have they had a pretty good reputation?

Are you wanting a 3.0t or 2.0t what year are you wanting and what trim level (Premium Plus, Prestige?)

Looking at a 2.0t - not sure what trim package, but looking for something fully loaded.

If you're looking at used 2.0T's you can't get a Prestige (fully loaded). You need to get a 3.0T, 3.0 TDI, SQ5, or a hybrid (I think the hybrid was offered as a Prestige).
Look at the 3.0 cars if you want power.

2013 and up have decent reliability ratings. Before that you have to beware specific engine and oil consumption issues. And like all German cars, and AWD cars, the maintenance is going to be expensive at 100,000 miles and above.

PERFECT unless you have the oil consumption problem or the timing chain or timing tensioner failure. Revised/Updated parts are important, so yes to newer Q5s (2014 and up) unless your want to risk getting an older Q5 which might have not gone the upgraded parts route. Having said the above, I have a 2009 Q5 TFSi which had the oil consumption problem and Audi has fixed the issue under warranty.
