Default Tire Pressure

What tire pressure do most of you use for your Q5? The manual and the door jam sticker recommend 33 psi. But when I picked up my Q all four tires had 42 psi. I reduced that down to about 36 psi (cold). I assume the dealer checked them and must have considered 42 to be correct. It does seem to ride less harsh now with 36 instead of 42 but I don't want the tires to wear unnecessarily.

I keep mine at 32 and check them on a monthly basis.

Audi engineers in cooperation with tire manufacturers with testing have found optimal pressures in the tires and you have the sticker on the door with the necessary pressures
Tolerance is 3%
Factories puts more pressure in the tires because of transportation and because it is not known how long the vehicle will stand in stock

39PSI is recommended if you have full passengers in your car. if you drop it down to 32-33PSI you will see your outer threads will wear out quickly. 39 PSI will give the center threads a chance to even out as miles go by. learned this from my buddy at the shop

So 33 to 36 psi is probably a good range (unloaded). 42 psi seemed excessive.

It is not correct
When the car is under load, then a recommendation 2.7bar = 39 PSI 3.0TFSI, For 2.0TFSI is less 2.4bar =35PSI

This is Audi recommendations

I have a 2.0TFSI with the 235/55 R19 tires, that says 2.3 bar.

hmm..thats odd. im using 39PSI right now. Dealer had it at 32PSI when I first got my car and my friend noticed the threads were wearing out pretty quick. so he bumped it to 39 PSI.

Exactly, that's when the car full laden, otherwise a 2.1

You have a sticker on the door, all written for your vehicle
