Not sure if there's an updated list, but here's a semi-recent TSB with the approved oils (IIRC you'll need 502.00): http://microsites.audiusa.com/ngw/09..._1997-2012.pdf

True that the DOOR sticker is not the LAW. It is not a SUGGESTION but what factory recommended (similar for the motor oil, fuel etc)
On my Michelin Latitude Sport wrote: Maxi load 825 kg and max pressure 51 PSI
According to you I should ride on the 46 PSI of pressure
That's 50% more than the recommended ![EEK!](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Do you know what that means ???![Confused](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
Dozens of engineers and specialists working on the development and testing of tires
I think that the engineers who designed and made the tire along with Audi engineer wrote what is optimal for a tire (vehicle weight, substrate temperature, type of substrate, the inner temperature of the air in the tire, the lateral and longitudinal forces, load, braking forces, etc.....)
I think they know best how much tire pressure should be, or maybe you know something better of them.
If you know better than them, congratulations
Good luck

First thing is this:
The sticker is ONLY valid with STOCK OEM tire.
So When U change said tire to your ways the sicker is INVAILD period dot.
So HELLO !!
The tire rules, not the car.
If U don't temp tires, then Go RELEARN before U TRY to trump me.........................

I think you made a mistake. I wrote the facts, I did not mean anything bad
Return to the start topics and read where she writes about change size OEM tyre
What my tire says 51 PSI max, how much to put 45 PSI or more ???
Here writes about the OEM tires and not some modifications
It is not true that the rule of tires, but the car and tire combinations.
The same tires on different cars have different pressure means no tire rule
It seems that hundreds of engineers and experts do not know anything about tires
End of discussion for me
Good luck and enjoy the life

^This is true. The door jam recommendation is for a full load. I usually drive alone or with one little passenger so I keep my 18" Michelin Latitude tires at 31 most of the time and 30 when there is a lot of snow. Seems to work perfect in pothole embedded streets of Chicago.

I have mine set at 35psi which is providing a better ride than the 44psi when I picked it up. Still a bit rough around the edges as I still get a few complaints from the passengers in the back seat. As the weather warms up I'll probably drop it down to 32 or 33psi. I wanted to see how the mpg's were before I dropped it down, too. I've only filled it once and still have a couple hundred miles to go before I return to the pump.

The owner's manual states that the ratings on the label in the door jam are specific to each car (model, engine size, wheel size and tires). And the ratings are for maximum load. My door label says 33 psi for my 2.0 with 19" wheels and 235/55 XL tires. So getting back to my orginal question, I believe the 42 psi that the car was delivered with was excessive, especially since there will be only 1 person in the car most of the time. I'll probably continue to run mine at 32-36 and monitor tire wear and gas mileage.

123, not sure if you are aware, but your Owner's Manual will show you a very comprehensive list on inflation pressures, both Normal and MAX loads for the various tire/wheel configs available on your vehicle. It's way at the end of the book.

Thanks. That's where I was quoting from. It also refers to the door label. The manual's list states that my size tire with the 2.0, psi should be 30-33. I'd prefer to be a little on the high side for gas mileage and tire wear and will probably do the chalk test.
