Track a Q5 delivery

I have negotiated a very good deal out of my q5 diesel into a 3.0 tfsi Sline and and am happy to be out of what I fear will be a situation that will ruin a truly great car. All those issues aside, I have heard it is possible to track the shipping of a car from Germany.
Does anyone know how this is done? Dealer said two weeks ago it had been shipped and was wondering where it was. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Cheers

Some say that the dealer has a way to get info on which ship it's on (no clue whether they all do or just some or it takes some work that most aren't willing to do or necessarily know about), but generally the process most of us take is to take the ETAs (or actual dates) on loading and unloading and find which ship seems to match closest in the schedule.
I figure even if you get the wrong ship, it should be close enough since they'll usually take about the same amount of time to cross the Atlantic anyway.![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
From looking at the schedule, it doesn't show farther back than ships docking in a few days (which is a little odd from what I'm used to), so looks like in your case since it's shipped already you may need to get at the info another way (unless someone's got an older schedule that includes ships docking at Emden toward the end of July).

The dealer should be able to give you the status of the car which would include the 'load date' in Emden and the 'arrival date' in your home port (where are you located?). Once you have that you can usually figure out what ship it is on.

Thanks, called dealer...boat arrives August 11th in Halifax so that date plus a week or so should be here depending on shipment of either rail or truck. I guess that puts it in about 3rd week of August to be sure.
