We are planning a trip to Florida this next February. Since we are leaving from Montreal, I will leave my place on winter tires and put the summer wheels along the way. On the I-95. What will be the best place to switch them?
Since I bring the summer wheels in the trunk, I would like to switch them a soon as possible. I will leave the winter wheels at the service shop that will switch them until I came back 3 weeks later. But since I will be on summer tire after that, I want to be sure I won't get snow.

Wow! Are you kidding me, Yoshimura-san? Unless coz I'm on the west coast, this is the 1st time I've heard of anyone embarking on a road trip (albeit - through adverse weather conditons), to have to leave with 8 wheels! Just go with your winter set-up, no harm driving with winter tires for a few thousand km in warmer climes. Just seems too **** or troublesome, IMHO to have to worry about wheel changes along the way. Maybe others can chime in with better opinions.

I agree with the two other posters. Take the trip with your winter tires. You'll be covered for any potential bad weather on both legs of your trip. You never know where winter weather will hit and won't have to worry about it. Enjoy your trip and don't worry about your wheels and tires.

The others are right. Florida and Georgia will likely be in the 50s (F) in the winter. Of course it could get into the 70s all the way in the Keys, where it looks like you are going. Unless you're taking hot laps of Sebring, you should be OK.

I would agree too, keep your winter tires.
We were in Orlando last year and when we were driving around, we could see lots of Canadian plates and they all had winter tires. No wonder they call the snowbirds!

I live in NYC, I'm driving my 335d down to Orlando for New Years. I will do this drive on my summers (I have my winters on now)
1) My winters are non RFT, my summers are RFT
2) What if we get nice 70's weather in Orlando? My Winters will melt!
3) What are the chances we'll get snow? I can check a weather forecast.
I'd love to use my winters because they ride smoother and are lighter so better mileage.
In your situation OP, All seasons would be ideal...Use them for the the trip.
