Default Trunk opening

In the last month or so, a strange thing has happened. I lock the car and sometime later, I find the trunk wide open. First time or two, I figured it was me, maybe pressed the trunk release on the key by mistake - keys in pockets. Ok, last night, 11:30 PM, my wife tells me the trunk is wide open. I mean, like what the hell here. Imagine if it were raining otr if the car was parked somewhere on the street instead of my driveway? Going to have this one checked out.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Bob

On a related note, what happens if you try to lock the car with the key, but a door/trunk is open? Is there any way to distinguish that situation from locking the car with the remote when all doors/trunk are closed (i.e. get the chirp and flashing lights).

ah nice actually, now that i put my mind together(remember today is Monday), the links that edwyun posted is what I was referring to. But regardless, the russians are having lots of trunk related problems and are discussing them at the provided link.

not quite true - they discussing if possible to open trunk during movement of the car - happen to be - YES, so, don't try this at home .

Bob has a different issue - his trunk was open when he was not near his car. And , of souse, what happen if this was on the street parking.
I have the same issue with my Nissan. When we got it new and parking in the garage I can hear clinking of trunk opening during the night. Get back to dealer and my key get reprogrammed (I had issue with car starting also) .
