Hi folks,
I have this odd trunk door problem that doesn't always occur. The trunk always opens fine from the remote, or the release button in the driver's door. But the outer switch located on the trunk door acts up sometimes. Took it to the dealer, and they couldn't reproduce the problem (i think there is a lose wire somewhere). Got the car back, drove around for about 5 days, the problem started reoccurring. Anyone else with this problem? I am at the stage where i want to look into it myself because even small movement like closing the trunk sometimes fixes the problem so bringing the car to the dealer with the condition is difficult.

This has cropped up before. Do you think it is possible that your own hand has interfeared with the process?
When we press the button we may not hold it long enough or press in a bit at the same time. That is my theory. It is the exact same on the Q7s.
I will be interested to see a result to your or anyones's experiments.
I find I can press the button again to make it lift even after it has clicked but not moved.
IMO its not a loose wire.

Eh, i wish it was me to be honest. I've even had it at the service in this condition once except that they were completely clueless and asked to come back when the Q5 certified tech would be in, but now it works or it doesnt so i cant catch it broken to take it back. I would try a number of times everytime it didn't open, pressing both hard and not, and holding the button in for a while.

If you don't hit the button dead in the middle on the trunk then it doesn't open, I think it's just a finger thing,
funny though, I can't open the trunk from my remote, can everyone else?

I open from the remote no problem. I also have the intelligent key option with the push button start and noticed that the trunk will ONLY open from the driver's door if the car is started up.
so you are saying pressing the button until it clicks is not good enough and i have to get it right in the middle?
