I'm changing out my brake pads for the first time on my 2013 Q5 2.0T.

I noticed both inner pads (7mm) have less wear than the outer pads (5mm). It's the consistency that bothers me. Anyone else have this issue?

I never would expect both calipers to be sticking.

How many miles on are the Q5?

Sorry, not sure why picture rotated. But it's a side by side comparison of my front inner and outer brake pads.

Only 63k miles.

If the guide pins are not lubricated, the outer pad will exhibit more wear. Could be the lube is drying up, worn out or traveled. Two mm isn't too bad for pad near the end of their useful life.

One reason you have to inspect both sides of the rotor, not just one pad. Don't ask me why I recommend that. Ruined a good rotor.
