Hard to say, 30mm is an approximation and not much more than 1" so it could be hard to tell much difference unless they're side by side (or like you say it may be "settled height" or something). Pretty sure the Euro-spec is lower, but as this shows it doesn't look lower. Still need to wait until SQ5s are in people's grubby mitts here and measure the things to see what we're looking at.

Agreed - mine is ~6 weeks out (9/2). I'm certainly not going to send it back if it's not lowered but I can always live in hope that it will be.

It'll be silly if it's not, but not the end of the world at least. At least we'll know one way or the other so people know what to expect, and there's aftermarket if nothing else. Hopefully it's not a big issue, though.

The reason that Audi didn't lower the SQ5 here is because if they did, they'd lose the light truck designation, and have to go through all of the crash testing and US DOT certification all over again, this according to the Q5 product manager.

Don't understand what the big deal is. Obviously, the Q5 is an SUV designed to sit higher, and while more practical, it will never handle as good as a car with a lower center of gravity. Those favoring low ride height should get a wagon, not an SUV.

I don't think anyone is expecting an SQ5 to handle as well as an A4 or an allroad.

To me, Suspensiongate is about aesthetics and us North Americans (once again) getting the short end of the stick when it comes to certain Audi models.

The 21" wheels on a regular Q5 suspension just doesn't look right to me.
I look at the SQ5-TDI with those same wheels and it looks more natural.

Those same wheels on the SQ5-TFSI make it look like Bigfoot.

I *will* be lowering the suspension on my SQ5 when it arrives.
ETA is September, so I'll likely keep the jacked suspension for the winter and lower it in the spring.
I will *not* be going the Stasis route though, as I don't find such a large drop appealing.

A 1" drop would be perfect IMO, so I will be seeking to install the SQ5-TDI springs if possible.
If not, I will likely go the H&R route that will see a drop of approx. 1.5"
