Default USA SQ5 Not Lowered?

The original SQ5 press release indicated the car would be lowered by 1.18" (30mm).

The just-released Press Kit (http://www.audiusanews.com/home;jses...D39C0D19AACFC3) shows the car .1" (3mm) higher.

Does anybody know why? Any guesses?

My reply from the other thread:

In the Canadian PIB, there are illustrations that show front/side/rear/top dimensions of the regular Q5 and the SQ5.
In those illustrations, the side profile measurements show that the SQ5 is lower from the ground to the bottom of the hatch opening, yet the overall height in the "front" view shows that the SQ5 is taller than the regular Q5.
The differences IIRC were something like -30mm and +12mm respectively.
Doesn't compute with me, so I'm remaining hopeful that somewhere along the way made an error that keeps getting propagated.
Nobody I've spoken to at the dealership or @Audi Canada has been able to make sense of those numbers either.
I think it's going to take the first few units actually getting here before we know 100%.

Seems like the case based on the current literature we've had access to.

And based on the two SQ5's I saw at NAIAS Detroit, didn't seem like the suspension was lower than normal Q5.

Perhaps Audi doesn't want to underestimate America's love for high-riding SUVs that they made sure to keep even the SQ5 ride taller.

I took some pics of the panther black one (but the estoril blue one also had the same wheel to fender gap):

To add more confusion, the gap is much reduced in the recently released official Audi photos.

Can never rely on Audi's photos... they are often doctored. Look at the current Audi USA site, under the "models" tab that shows a side profile of all their models; just about every single model has a healthy ride height drop in all photos, just to make the cars more appealing. The A4, A6, and Q5 look particularly slammed

I would hope that it wouldn't be dropped. I know there is a faction here that loves the slammed look, but personally, if I want a car, I'll buy a car. The whole reason we (especially my wife) chose the Q5, is that it's got a little height, as one would expect from a SUV/crossover.

An inch lower is a FAR cry from slammed...

The plot thickens.

From the Audi USA site's press materials:

LOL, What to believe?

None of the above! It's actually raised 6"!

That shows a 29mm drop, but then again it would be the EU dimensions just rehosted, so not necessarily accurate for us. We'll see what we get once the first people here get their deliveries (hopefully just before they get distracted by having too much fun driving).

JaXen, Good graphics, thanks.
The 1655mm height for the SQ5 is consistent with what Audi was saying in January and these graphics are dated 1/13. Now they're saying SQ5 height is 1658mm.

I wish they hadn't done that
