Default Want radio off when car starts

Whenever I start my 2012 Q5 the radio turns on. Is there a way to change settings so radio does not come on when starting? Thanks.

I wish there was as well. Thank goodness one can mute the volume by pushing down on the volume ****.

Not the answer I was hoping for, but was the answer I expected. I love the German engineering, but sometimes I can't understand their design logic. If anyone has a different answer on radio, I'm still hopeful!

I tun my radio down to a very low level when I stop, when I start the car it is loud. I have set the volume presets for all the modes to minimum, am I missing something?

You can turn off the whole system by pressing and holding the volume button.

Or, you can adjust the max activation volume down to 16% w/ VCDS. It won't turn it off completely but it makes it pretty quiet on start up. Don't have any idea why the minimum is 16% and not 0? They could have at least made it 13.471% or something. Hard to tell what the engineers were thinking or if they even were?
Here's the coding

Maximum Activation Volume of the Radio

[56 - Radio] > [Adaptation - 10] > Channel – 04 Adjust Value (Range 16-100%)

Default – 46%

I have a 2014 Q5 if that means anything, I coded to 16% and if the volume is higher than 16% at turnoff, it reduces it to 16% on vehicle startup. If the shutdown volume if less than 16%, it puts it back to 16% on startup. No big issue but according to the VCDS popup message, if the shutdown volume is less than 16% it will stay at that lower shutdown volume at startup. I usually turn my volume down lower than 16% for most of my listening towards the end of the drive, so it would have been nice to have it startup at that lower than 16% volume. The mod still sure beats that 46% factory preset setting!!!!

Thanks again......

Try putting it on mute before turning off the car?

You can also press the media button (assuming no cd/DVD is in player or ami connection) it will remain quiet until you press radio band, etc. FWIW
