What to add performance chip on my Q5 2.0T!
I would like to add a performance chip on my 2011 Q5 2.0T but can't decide which brand to go for? MTM? ABT? or GIAC? Which one is the overall best peformance out of all? Do I need to modify my tranny afterwards?

First, Welcome to the forum !
When you say chip, I presume you mean software tuning?
What you will find is that most are similar in performance with most of them being in the 50 to 80 hp range of improvement, which is quite an improvement on either end of the scale!
Just like buying anything, pc's, laptops, refrigerators, etc...
most do the same function, just with slight differences.
While you can do all your research online to decide what you want, I would suggest you search locally to find someone that has experience and go with what they suggest - talk to their previous customers.
You know, that support after the sale thing is really a good thing
good luck and you'll enjoy the car MUCH more afterwards !
Oh, you should not have to change anything in your tranny either.

ABT is the best but most expensive.
Gives the best performance
It is very important that does not change anything in the factory ECU module
From them get a new ECU module

I think we tested this out a while ago. We tested REVO, GIAC, and STASIS and it turned out that REVO (the cheapest) was 0-60 in 6 seconds flat, GIAC was 6.2, and STASIS (most expensive) was 6.4ish. I have GIAC, and it was done through my Audi dealer's tuning division so that offered me peace of mind.

Usually the recommendation when getting chipped is (or used to be, at least) to buy a new ECU and have that chipped to keep your original ECU stock in case you need to go to the dealer and don't want your ECU to be reprogrammed from an update or to cause diagnostic issues (or claims that the problem was from the tune -- which granted it could be).

Depending on how much power you plan to upgrade to, typically it should not require transmission upgrade.
Good luck!

ABT company has dealers worldwide, although poorly represented in the U.S:
