Where do you go to get fueled up?

According to Audi to avoid carbon build up, it's not just using higher octanes, but specifically getting fuel from a list of Audi pre-approved retailers.

Do you guys only fuel up at these gas stations?

+1.

I have also heard that revving the engine close to redline every now and then can help too. You obviously wouldn't want to do this if you're still in the break-in period.

My Porsche 993 has a similar issue so I've been using Chevron for quite a while. Consequently, that's where I've taken all of my Audis throughout the years, too.

How can the gas make a difference? I thought the problem was the gas doesn't pass the valve to sweep deposits off so no amount of additives would help. Even those that were running oil catch cans and meth kits were still getting it.

That's part of the problem but they real problem is how the gas burns. better burning gas = less carbon to build up.
