LOL. In this case, I'd take a nod over a wink.

I had a BMW 535i with sport package, so there was really no comparison. This is a completely different animal all together so hard to compare at all. I've never owned a BMW suv. But the Audi does not disappoint at all. Still just as fun to drive, just different.

Sure, makes sense. Have you compared the 535 to the A6?
What made you trade the BMW for the Q5?

BMW was a lemon and they bought it back. I only drove the A6 3.0T at the Audi Drive last year. Really like it a lot. Always been a BMW fan, but after all the problems I had, I decided to try Audi. So far, very happy. I decided on the Q5 because we have a home in the mountains and I needed something more snow friendly. But I must say, I've thought about an A6 Quattro after this (we'll see what the next design looks like, but if it looks anything like the A4 or new A8, I'm in)

I test drove both the the A6 and the BMW 528xi and the 528 in its base form is very close to the A6 handling wise. The only noticable difference is the steering is tighter on the BMW, but the A6, ever though its steering is not as tight, is by no mean not precise. At that time, the A6 was a much better value than the 5 series, but now, the 2010 5 series can be had for a song and a dance.

Why is that?

Because the 2011 5 series is out and it is not a Chris Bangle design, the 2011 5 series is almost superior in quality, ride and handling, all that at a lower MSRP than the 2010. BMW has lower it price in quite a few 2011 model in order to compete with Audi's pricing. I guess competition is always good for the customers.

I'm a BMW and Audi owner. I own an E46 M3, have driven 335i, 740iL, Audi A4, S4, and RS4.

The biggest difference is the feel of the car. Both are high quality, but like many people mentioned before... the BMW is more driver oriented. BMW's just feel more tighter and agile. Their engine's also seem to be more responsive and alive. The Audi is definately more comfortable and a smoother ride. They pack heat in the performance area as well, but not like the flagship BMW.

I think someone said it best. BMW is performance. Mercedes is luxury. Audi is an awesome compromise of both.

Default BMW Ultimate Driving event

Last month I attend BMW Ultimate Driving Event at Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas, CA.
The session I register was New 2011 535i with Audi A6T.
I have to tell you - I make a BIG MISTAKE - they ask me if I would like to first try full loaded BMW 550. This car is a animal is his own class. After 550, 535 is yexxx...., not even close.
I test drive Audi A6 last year and I have to tell you guys, the car that they give me was nothing close to the car I drove last year. Even my wife ask me what wrong with this car. When I ask BMW representative whats wrong with the Audi, why it drive so bad - because our car is better and you can fillet - was answer. Did they do something - I don't know, but this will not surprise me if the did - car drive slow and can't accelerate properly.

Like I sad above - best car that day BMW 550 - with 400 hp HP turbo V8
Next 535i with 306 HP
Last one Audi A6 - again - car was driving very strange and have no feeling of acceleration.
And then I get latest "CAR AND DRIVER" for 535/A6 comparing test - A6 win!

Do you think that since this was a BMW event, that perhahps the A6 was tuned optimally?
